Groundwater: An Economically Vital Resource

This cool infographic by the National Groundwater Association  depicts where much of the groundwater is used in America, and it’s impact on the Nation’s economy.

Use of Groundwater in America

In most of the communities we service, Groundwater is used for drinking water- either public supply or private- more than any other depicted use.  Miller Well Drilling is C-Certified for public distribution systems (up to 1001 service connections) in North Carolina, where we service many community water systems.
Metro Atlanta is a rare exception, where the price of water has placed different market demands on drillers and customers.  The majority of the wells we install and service are for lawn and landscape irrigation systems and swimming pools.  Although these kinds of wells do not show up on the above infograph, the economic impact is VERY significant for our clients- in many cases showing less than a year Return on Investment!
